Indian River County Health Department is committed to the
prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
in Florida. We have a staff of trained individuals available to
test, treat, counsel and educate the public about STDs.
Clinical services are provided in strict confidence and are
available to all Florida residents who seek care for the
prevention of STDs. We offer STD services on a reasonable
and/or no cost basis to adults and adolescents, regardless of
their citizenship status.
What do I do if I think I have an STD or want to get tested
for STDs?
Our
highly trained STD Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) can
help you with any testing, treatment, counseling or education
questions or concerns you have. As with all aspects of our STD
services, testing and results are strictly confidential, and
testing can be performed discretely in our adult health clinic.
Our DIS will notify any individual who tests positive for HIV,
syphilis, or any other STD.
Another important role of our DIS is to promptly treat pregnant
women and/or their partners who test positive for an STD to
ensure a healthy life for the unborn child.

information, please call (772) 794-7471.
HIV & AIDS Services
Indian River County Health Department also offers HIV
counseling, testing, and education. For those who test positive
for HIV, we offer partner counseling and referral services.
Informing one's sex and needle sharing partners is a tough job,
but they need to know.
We
also have field staff who conduct HIV counseling and testing in
the community to at-risk individuals, and provide HIV patient
care outreach services. For individuals living with HIV, we
offer prescription assistance through our AIDS Drug Assistance
Program.
